Welcome To My City Blog: What’s the Ish, Savannah?

Gettin’ Spooky with It
Alright, I must apologize to y’all for being somewhat misleading in my last post. This will not be a post about reviews from the restaurants from my previous one. However, have no fear, those are in the works. Instead, let’s get spooky with it!
One of my absolute, hands down, most favorite activities to do here in Savannah is a ghost tour, specifically the walking pub crawl. Drinks, ghost stories, catching orbs on film, feeling the goose bumps rise on your skin, and perhaps scaring some of your friends, is the perfect opportunity to create some educational debauchery. Who’s with me?
The very best tour I have ever had the deadly good fortune to experience is the “Savannah Haunted Pub Crawl” from our ghoulishly good friends Ghost City Tours. I have participated in this tour, willingly, on four separate occasions. Each time left me in awe, and so began a new appreciation and admiration for the stories of the souls of those who have passed on from this world. Now, Savannah has a long and twisted history, much of which I still need to learn. That being said, the walking pub crawl, is in my opinion, one of the best ways to do this, and I’ll explain why.
A quick Google search of “Ghost City Tours Savannah” will begin one of the greatest adventures Savannah has to offer. After the tickets have been chosen and admission fees paid, you will receive a detailed email. This will include a summary of your purchase, map for the designated meeting place, contact information should any issues arise, as well as a photo of your tour guide. On each of the tours I have been on, the meeting place has been Tondee’s Tavern, located on Bay Street. The tour guides have been beyond the grave incredible, and helped create an overall welcoming, engaging and bone chilling good time. I must say though, the best tour guide in Savannah? Sabrina. Yes, just like the teenage witch. She even has a black cat, but sadly, Salem did not win the name game.
Sabrina is a master story teller. The history of The Hostess City so eloquently flows from her, with an unrivaled passion and sophisticated yet corny sense of humor. She truly makes each of her tour participants feel as if they are on a VIP only excursion. The tour begins with quite the surprise and it only improves from there. A true people person, you suddenly feel as if you’re talking with a long lost friend, exploring a haunted city with the option to enhance the experience with the help your ghostly friend Booze. Sabrina carefully navigates the crowd to each of the destinations, unveiling the secrets of Savannah along the way. At the end of the tour, I can assure you that you will be left with a smile on your face, some goose bumps on your skin, an empty to go cup, and maybe a few pictures of orbs floating through the night air.
